Prof. Olufemi M. Saibu
Olufemi Saibu is a Professor of Development Economics, a macroeconomic development economist, development planner, trade and Investment policy analyst informal economy and business analyst and is currently the Director of the Institute of Nigeria-China Development Studies, University of Lagos.
He has a broad background in development economics, with specific training and expertise in economic policy modelling and design, market analysis, survey research and data analysis on market and industrial fundamental analysis aimed at identify possible opportunities for private businesses and enterprises in the development agenda of the government.
He has been visiting scholar at University of Johannesburg South Africa. His recent research includes: profiling the key macroeconomic policies that are essential for private sector development, analysing how entrenching profit motives can help in addressing shortage in the provision of public goods, developing a framework for informal business and SMEs incubation, survival and development, as well as developing regulatory framework and policy changes required for effective introduction and sustaining public-private partnership in enhancing economic inclusion, diversifications, public good provision and economic externality mitigations in Nigeria.

Gregory O. Simire
Gregory O. Simire is a Professor at the Department of European Languages and Integration Studies, University of Lagos.
He is a specialist and consultant in French Studies and Didactics, Linguistic Immersion Programme as well as in Applied French linguistics. He is a member of numerous professional bodies amongst which are University French Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (UFTAN), West African Association of Linguists (WAL), West African Association of French Language Centres (WAAFLC) Nigerian Association of Linguists (NAL) , the World Association of French Language Teachers, the West African Association of Translators & Interpreters (WAITI) where he is the Registrar and Secretary, the Nigerian Interpreters and Translators Institute (NITI) as well as the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL). Dr Adebowale Ayobade
Dr Adebowale Ayobade is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work and the Coordinator of Institute of Continuous Education (ICE) Part-Time Undergraduate in the Department of Social Work. She is also the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Her area of academic interest includes: Social Work, Industrial Social Work, Industrial Sociology, Cultural studies in the area of Nigerian Heritage, Indigenous and informal businesses, with special interest in Gender and Entrepreneurship studies.
She obtained her Ph.D in Sociology and also obtained Diploma and Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has conducted several research studies and published in reputable local and international academic journals and books.
She was honoured with research excellence at the 2018 Fellowship Award by Lagos Studies Association (LSA) grant from the British Academy facilitated by Dr Carli Coetzee through African Studies Association of the United Kingdom. She is also the Principal Investigator and a recipient of research grant funded by the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos to study “Socio-Economic Factors Influencing the Coping Mechanisms of Street Traders in Lagos State”. She has participated in several Conferences and Workshops at local and international levels. She currently consults in the area of Social Welfare related matters.

Oluseye S. Ajuwon
Oluseye S. Ajuwon has been a lecturer and researcher for over fifteen years in the Department of Economics at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
His time there has afforded him the opportunity to identify myself as a good teacher with a good ability for a critical research issue, develop research strategies and take the lead in reviewing, developing, managing, monitoring and evaluating a portfolio of research projects. He obtained a PhD Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa. His research interests are international finance, monetary economics and development finance.
He has quite a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals, chapters of books and textbooks to his credit including: Access to Finance and Performance of Services Sector MSMEs in Nigeria, Oradea Journal of Business and Economics, Volume VI, Issue 2 Published in September 2021. He is also an Inflation Targeting and Forecasting Trainer with the Alexander Brookes Associates Limited, Canada. Monitor and Evaluation Expert, Impact Assessment Analyst, and Field Survey Specialist. He is also a research fellow at the Institute of Nigeria-China Development Studies, University of Lagos.

Maryam O. Quadri
Maryam Omolara Quadri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, University of Lagos. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Political Science with specialisation in Public Administration and Public Policy.
Her research focus is on health policy and politics, gender and development studies. Maryam Quadri is a Commonwealth Fellow (Roehampton University 2012) was also a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs, Kennesaw State University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA (2011).
She was a Fellow of the American Political Science Association (APSA) Africa Workshop at Maputo, Mozambique in 2014.
Dr. Quadri has participated in many research endeavours; she was a Field Manager in the Lagos Metropolitan Development Project - Baseline Household Service Delivery Survey, a study undertaken by the Unilag Consult and Commissioned by the Lagos State Government and the World Bank, (2005).
She is a Nigerian representative on an ongoing Project (2022-2025), ‘Reconstituting the Political in Postcolonial Africa’. An explorative and interpretive study of five case studies (Nigeria, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and South Africa) being sponsored by German Research Foundation. Adeola Adedeji-Adeyemi
Adeola Adedeji-Adeyemi is a lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence & International Law, University of Lagos.
Her interest and writing is rooted within Private International Law, Judicial Reform and crosses Law and Development, generally. She is currently running a Ph.D programme on Anti-Suit Injunctions and Parallel Litigation in Private International Law. Her hobbies include writing, volunteering, counselling and reading. Aliyu A. Adedeji
Dr. Aliyu Adedeji Ajao is a Lecturer I in the Department of European Languages and Integration Studies, Faculty of Arts at the University of Lagos where he has been teaching and engaged in research for over 16 years. He is currently the Postgraduate Coordinator of the Department of European Languages and Integration Studies as well as a Member of the University of Lagos Senate.
He hold a Ph.D. from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. His areas of specialization are French and Francophone Literatures, French and Francophone Culture and Civilizations and Translation. He also has interests in Contemporary issues in Cross border migrations, Toxic Language among the youths in West Africa, Francophone African Female Authors: Issues and Perspective. E. Olawale Ogunkola
E. Olawale Ogunkola is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He was the Head of Department between 2017 and 2021. He was the Dean of the Faculty of the Social Sciences between 2012 and 2014 at the University of Ibadan. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Econometrics and Allied Research (CEAR) and Director, Trade Policy Research and Training Programme (TPRTP).
He holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. His areas of teaching and research include Regional Integration, International Economics and Quantitative Analysis including Econometrics, Mathematics for Economists and Operation Research.
He has published extensively in the area of trade and regional integration with particular focus on Africa. He has consulted widely for various bodies in Nigeria, Africa and internationally including the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, (FMITI), the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the UK Department for International Development (DfID), United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), etc. He was a visiting scholar to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2001. He was a visiting Lecturer at the National University of Lesotho (2000 – 2002). He was a resource person to the Regional Trade Policy Course (RTPC) of World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Temitope Onuminya
Dr. Temitope Onuminya is an Associate Professor of Molecular Plant Systematics and Conservation at the Department of Botany and Deputy Director, Institute for Continuing Education, University of Lagos.
Her area of research includes: Molecular Plant Systematics, Medicinal Plants, Plant Conservation and Biotechnology, Forensic Botany and Climate Change.
She is a member of several professional bodies including the American Society of Plant Systematics, USA, Botanical Society of America, Botanical Society of Nigeria and Treasurer, Organization of Women in Science for the Developing World (Lagos Branch). She is a Darwin Scholar; Fellow of the Institute for Nigeria-China Development Studies; Fellow, Linnean Society London, Lead Fellow and Technical and Research Officer at the TETFUND Center of Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management. She is passionate about youth development and an advocate for climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation in Nigeria. Currently, she is working on the Digitization of Lagos Herbarium (GBIF funded project) and DNA barcoding and banking of endangered tree species in Nigeria (TETFUND sponsored project).

Lieay Olusola Oguntola
Olusola is a lecturer in the Department of European, Languages and Integration Studies, University of Lagos. She obtained her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in French in 2004, 2009 and 2017 respectively in the same university. She began her teaching career in Unilag in 2008 as a Graduate Assistant before becoming a full member of staff in 2009.
Her areas of specialisation are: Negro-African literature in French, French Grammar and Translation. Olusola is passionate about African cultural heritage in the West Indies, hence her Ph.D. thesis centred on African Heritage in the West Indies. She has interest in issues bothering on migration in West African sub-region as well as governance in Africa. As such, she was part of a research team in IADS (Institute of African and Diaspora Studies) on migration where she serves as the interpreter and translator during a research trip to Burkina-Faso. She serves as the Examination Officer and the Coordinator of the French Club of ELIS.

Olasunmbo A. Olusanya
Dr. Olasunmbo Ayanfeoluwa Olusanya is an Employment Relations, Human Resource Management and Design Thinking specialist with focus on Human Resource Utilisation, Informal Economy, Entrepreneurship, Labour Economics, and Development Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, University of Lagos.
Her work focuses on patterns of employment, including the peculiarities and potentials of informal work arrangements. Her most recent research work “Towards an Occupational Health and Safety Standard at Building Construction Sites in Lagos State, Nigeria” was published in the Journal of Nigeria-China Development Studies.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Nigeria-China Development Studies, and of the Lagos Studies Association, Research Member ARUA CoE-USD, University of Lagos, Member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Nigerian Industrial Relations Association, Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), and University of Lagos Women Society. She has participated in grant projects funded by the British Academy, Economic and Social Research Council, European Union, and Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Nigeria. Temilola Oluseyi
Dr. Temilola Oluseyi is an Associate Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Lagos.
She is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship as a Split site Ph.D. and a Postdoctoral fellow to Loughborough University and University of Birmingham in 2007 and 2013 respectively. She had carried out collaborative researches with her Team and these had been funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry, GCRF UKRI, European Union and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK.
Her research focuses on environmental fate and behavior of toxic organic chemicals such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs), pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs), potentially toxic metals in the environment (air, water, dust, soil and sediment samples) and also biotic matrices. She also studies human exposure to these pollutants with a focus on indoor pathways via inhalation and ingestion of dust and food; measuring levels of these chemicals and their sources, particularly in indoor environments.
She is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry UK, Member of the UKRI International Development Peer Review College and Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) Alumni Advisory Panel. She is the Chair of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) African Chapter

Ilaria Poggiolini
Ilaria Poggiolini is Chair Professor of International History and former Pro-Chancellor for International Relations (2013-2019) at the University of Pavia. She teaches History of International Relations, European integration and Public Diplomacy.
Her early research activities and publications centered on post WWII international peace making, on political and diplomatic relations between Italy and the Allies in the 1940s and ‘50s and on the origins of the process of European integration. More recently and presently, her research and publications concentrate on enlargement of the European Community and British membership of the EEC since accession, on Western European Ostpolitik in the 1970s and 1980s, on Thatcher’s European and East/West policy in the 1980s and on German re-unification within the European framework.

Marco Missaglia
Marco Missaglia is Associate Professor of International Macroeconomics at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Pavia. He also teaches Development Economics at the Master in Cooperation and Development offered by the University of Pavia and at the Master in International Cooperation and Development offered by the Bethlehem University in Palestine.
He gives regular seminars (on an annual basis) in Development Economics at the University San Buenaventura in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia).He is part of the faculty of the Ph.D program in Development Economics and Local Systems (DELoS) of the University of Florence, where he teaches Development Macroeconomics.He had long teaching experiences in Latin America: from 2012 to 2015 in Colombia (Universidad Nacional de Colombia) and from 2015 to 2017 in Ecuador (FLACSO, Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales).His research interests are mainly related to post-Keynesian and structuralist macroeconomics and their applications to developing economies. Mr. Edoardo Manfredini is the Head of Sector Middle East and North Africa in the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC.1) at the European External Action Service.
Edoardo Manfredini has been working for 20 years in International Cooperation mainly in fragile/post war contexts. After having worked as consultant, for NGOs and for the Italian Development Agency in Albania, Bosnia, Angola, Eritrea and Mozambique, he joined the European Commission in June 2008 taking the post of Good Governance Coordinator at the European Union Delegation to the Republic of the Sudan.
From 2013 to 2018 he moved to the Philippines where he was the Programme Manager of the European Union's support to the peace process in Mindanao.From 2018 to 2022 he worked in Brussels at the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) as Crisis Response Planner for Sudan, South Sudan, Central African Republic Rwanda, Uganda and the Southern Africa region.His main fields of expertise are crisis management, conflict resolution, institution building and peace building.

Ms. Anna Loschiavo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political sciences and international relations at University of Roma La Sapienza and a master’s degree in African and Asian Studies at the University of Pavia.
The title of her master's thesis is: Trade misinvoicing, base erosion & profit shifting e flussi finanziari illeciti, come le multinazionali di petrolio e gas evadono le tasse in Nigeria (1999-2019).Between September and December 2019, she collected material for her thesis research in Lagos and Ibadan after winning the 2019 Giovanni Manera Scholarship.She is currently enrolled in a master’s course in European Project writing at Venice International University, and she writes articles especially on Nigerian politics, laws, and the energy industry for Nigrizia.Her areas of interest are international capital trafficking related to illicit activities and energy policies in Africa.

Stephanie N. Waniko
Stephanie Waniko is a Principal Researcher and Development Economist with the Extension Research and Liaison Services Department of the Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research, Lagos, Nigeria.
She is a PhD. student at the Department of Economics, University of Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on technology adoption intensity and productivity among fish farmers in Lagos State, Nigeria.Stephanie’s interests are in development economics with emphasis on resources and environmental issues. She also has expertise in ocean literacy.
As an avid environmentalist, Stephanie engages in community work through the Eco-Restoration Foundation (ERF) to undertake clean-up projects of the waterfronts in and around Lagos and constantly involves herself in advocacy for a cleaner and sustainable environment, particularly the ocean through education programmes for children and adults on how to best dispose waste, and the importance of the ocean and the waterways to our existence. She is also a team member of the ERF, IOI-NIGERIA and ASTRAL EU project with students, youth and community clean-ups, conservation and restoration campaigns.

Matthew I. Ogbuagu is a Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.

Lukman Oyeyinka Oyelami is a research fellow at the Institute of Nigeria-China Development Studies, University of Lagos and Postdoctoral Research fellow at Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Ibadan.
In this capacity, he has assisted to develop research objectives, projects and proposals, undertaking individual and collaborative research. He has acted as a research team leader, coinvestigator or supervisor on a number of research projects. Similarly, he has mentored, coached and supported colleagues in developing their research techniques. He is a seasoned economist with the capability to deliver research outputs using specialized econometric methods.
He holds a double honour degree Bachelor of Science and Education (B.Sc. ED) in Economics from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He holds a master and Ph.d degree in Economics with major focus in international trade, macroeconomic modelling and development economics.
He had worked as an account officer with Portland Electrical Repairs and Research Assistant to the current commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Osun state, Nigeria.

Efem N. Ubi
Efem N. Ubi is an Associate Professor and the Acting Director of Research and Studies Department at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA).
He holds a BSc. in Political Science from the University of Calabar; MSc in International Relations and Strategic Studies (IRSS) from the University of Jos and Ph.D in Contemporary International Relations from the prestigious Jilin University, China. Dr Ubi was the former Head, Division of International Economic Relations at the NIIA. He is also a Visiting Lecturer, Graduate School, Department of History and International Studies, Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State; a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of African Studies, Zhejiang Normal University, China; and also, a Reader (Adjunct) with the Department of History and International Relations, Elizade University, Ilare-Mokin, Ondo State.
Furthermore, Dr Ubi is recipient of many awards, which include; the October 1st Award of China-Nigeria Friendship (2021), from The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Nigeria; the prestigious United States International Visitors Leadership Program (USIVLP) (2008); Appointed and Commissioned “Ambassador of Goodwill” by the Governor of the State of Arkansas, United State of America (2008); Recipient of 2015 Foreign Talent Introduction Program of the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs, Zhejiang Province, China.
Ubi’s research interests and focus spans, International Relations, International Economic Relations, China-Africa, African Political Economy, Development Studies, and Territorial and Boundary conflict/Management. He has published several academic papers with publishers like Sage, Routledge (Tailor and Francis), Taiwan Foundation for Democracy etc. His recent works includes: “Chinese Loans and Nigeria’s Infrastructural Development: Will the Future of Nigeria’s Sovereignty be Guaranteed?”, Africa-China Peace and Security Review, 2021; a chapter titled, “China and Africa’s peace and security: Examining China’s role in Nigeria’s insecurity”, Routledge, 2020; a co-edited book titled, “Perspectives on Contemporary Nigerian Politics and International Relations: Essay in Honor of Professor Warisu Oyesina”, 2020 ;
“Is Liberal Democracy Failing In Africa or Is Africa Failing Under Liberal Democracy?” in Taiwan Journal of Democracy, 2019 (coauthored); and a Co-authored Book Chapter titled:

Dr Olunifesi Adekunle Suraj is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is the National Coordinator (Nigerian Chapter), UNESCO University Network on Media and Information Literacy.
Dr. SURAJ is one of the foremost Media & Information Literacy (MIL) Thought Leader with special interest in Internet Governance, Media development & Freedom of Expression, Cyber Safety and Knowledge Management.
Dr. Olunifesi is a consultant to many multinational and international organizations. He holds a Master and Doctorate (PhD) Degrees in Information Science and a Postgraduate Diploma Degree in Mass Communication with several publications to his credit.
